Montour Falls Complete Street Redesign

Design Connect developed a proposal to encourage the village to increase safety, promote sustainability, and enhance local economic development through the design and development of sustainable infrastructure and transportation systems at the Glorious T and along Main St.

  • engaged with and interviewed various community members and stakeholders to communicate and address critical issues through design ideas;
  • Proposed the intersection redesign, using elevated surface and special pavement to create a more welcoming environment;
  • Created site maps and renderings to deliver the design ideas;

Perceptions between Public spaces and privately owned public spaces (POPS) using social media data

The objective of this research is to explore the human perception between public spaces and privately owned public spaces (POPS) within New York City using crowdsourcing social media data. This research will also explore social media data’s potential (i.e. posted ratings and comments) in analyzing visitors’ perceptions of the public space.
